This five-minute video gives an impression of what it is like using Twitter as a backchannel in a large classroom.
I am already a HUGE fan of Twitter as a tool for extending my PLN. Logistically, I’m unsure how tweet-ing would work in a NSW high school context at the moment (leaving aside the fact that it is blocked by the web filter) – can anyone out there share a success story?

Thanks for this. Our Uni group is investigating the educational uses of ‘Twitter’ we have/ or in the process of creating a design for an elearning community…a blue print which is justified in educational terms. We are calling it Edutweet. This vid is a fabulous example of how ‘twitter’ has been used. The closest I have come for using something that gets past our DET filter is for me to use a wiki and monitor, posting the changes so all the students can see them.
Great work.

Hi Kelli. A DET Twitter would be great. If Your school uses Moodle and you have a class on there you can have a forum discussion during class and have it go as homework etc. Not quiet the same as Twitter but a good option.
Cheers
